Welsh Black
A small, hardy, intelligent ancient breed which will outwinter with little or no supplementary feed. Currently used on a range of nature conservation sites, including coastal cliffs, fen, heath and limestone grasslands.
Very sure-footed which is an excellent forager and browser - good at controlling a range of coarser vegetation. An average size cow (400-450kg) which will usually require finishing away from conservation sites on richer pasture, but has a beef marketing scheme available for the breed.
