
Belted Galloway
An extremely hardy breed which is adaptable to a wider range of habitats and environmental conditions. A gently placid animal with an attractive appearance.
Extremely tolerant of wet and cold weather with a long wavy overcoat that sheds rain. The breed fares well on range of coarse grasses even during the winter. A medium size animal (500-600 kg) able to produce a tasty lean meat of rough grazing which can be fattened on improved grassland to finish in 30 months.
