Biodiversity Action Plan - the Government's strategy to maintain and enhance biodiversity, following the Convention on Biological Diversity at the Earth Summit in Rio, 1992.

Birds Directive

Directive 79/409/EEC on the conservation of wild birds. Aims to protect bird species within the EU through the conservation of birds and important habitats for birds.

Habitats Directive

Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora. Aims to promote the maintenance of biodiversity through the conservation of important, rare or threatened habitats and the habitats of certain species.
